New CertainTeed Landmark Roof and Chimney Rebuild on Cape Cod

The old chimney was crumbling. The mortar was gone in places, the stone face was deteriorating, and the original flashing wasn't doing its job anymore. On Cape Cod, that's not just a cosmetic issue - it's a liability. Salt air, freeze-thaw cycles, and coastal storms will exploit every weak point a chimney has. This one had plenty.

We partnered with Arm Masonry on this job, and that collaboration made all the difference. They rebuilt the chimney face using weathered stone veneer and finished it with copper flashing at the base. Copper is the right call in a coastal environment - it won't rust, it seals tight, and it ages well. The new stonework is clean, tightly fitted, and built to stand up to whatever Cape Cod throws at it.

On the roofing side, we installed a full CertainTeed Landmark roof in Cobblestone Gray. It's a dimensional shingle that holds up well in harsh weather conditions, and the color works perfectly with the natural stone on the chimney. Everything ties together the way it should when the right trades are actually coordinating on a job.

This is the kind of work where cutting corners just isn't an option. A failing chimney sitting on top of an aging roof is a water intrusion problem waiting to happen. Getting both done at the same time - with tradespeople who communicate and hold each other to a high standard - is how you protect a home the right way. That's what we're about.
