Coastal homes take a beating. Salt air, wind, and moisture work against your siding and roof year after year - and on Cape Cod, that wear shows up fast. What you're looking at here is a classic Cape Cod home that had reached the point where patching things up just wasn't going to cut it anymore.

The original cedar shingles had done their job for years, but they were well past their prime. Weathered, uneven, and no longer protecting the home the way they should be. The roof was in similar shape. So we stripped everything back and started fresh with materials built to handle what coastal weather throws at a house.

We installed James Hardie fiber cement siding across the entire exterior. It doesn't rot, it doesn't warp, and it holds up to moisture in a way that wood simply can't match long-term. The new roof went on with architectural shingles in a deep charcoal green - a great fit for the roofline on a home like this. Then we wrapped it all with crisp white PVC trim. PVC is the right call near the coast because it won't absorb water or deteriorate the way wood trim does over time.

The difference is night and day. The home still has its character - the dormers, the round windows, the elevated deck - but now the exterior actually matches the quality of everything else about it. Clean lines, solid materials, built to last.

If your Cape Cod home is showing wear on the siding or you haven't had a roof inspection in a while, it's worth getting a set of eyes on it before small issues turn into bigger ones. We do this work every day, and we know what to look for.
